Geotechnical Testing

Our geotechnical laboratory holds UKAS accreditation. The laboratory is located at Washington, Tyne and Wear.

Accreditation

UKAS (formerly NAMAS) Accreditation was first achieved in 1995. The company achieved group accreditation in 2003 for all the laboratories using the original testing number 1464.

Testing

The company carries out a substantial range of soil and rock testing at the Washington laboratory. Testing facilities include effective stress, permeability, shear box, one dimensional consolidation testing, point loads and unconfined uni-axial compressive strength testing. The company's accreditation covers a significant number of laboratory tests to BS 1377 parts 1 to 8 and in-situ testing to BS 1377: 1990 part 9. In addition the laboratory is capable of undertaking the majority of the remaining tests in BS 1377 as well as to other standards e.g, BRE Digests, "Manual of Soil Testing", ISRM and ASTM.

The company carries out a substantial range of soil and rock testing.
